ALBERTO GRANADOS REGUILÓN
Alberto Granados Reguilón was born in Madrid, 1993. His artistic experience covers a wide range of musical activities, combining performance with composition and music theatre.
He wrote music for more than 20 theatre productions working with some of the best theatre directors of Spain (Gerardo Vera, Miguel del Arco, Josep María Mestres, Fermín Cabal, José Luis Arellano, José Padilla, Álvaro Lavín), including an a-capella musical (Iberian Gangsters, candidate for “Best composition for scene” in the Max theatre awards of Spain 2018), plus one rock opera and one cabaret, both of them premiered in Washington DC.
He studied composition at Codarts Rotterdam with Peter Jan Wagemans and René Uijlenhoet, and he is currently studying his Master in Composition at the Amsterdam Conservatorium with Richard Ayres and Willem Jeths.
His pieces have been performed by the Nieuwe Ensemble, Atlas Ensemble and Akom Ensemble, some of which were premiered in music halls like Muziekgebouw (Amsterdam) and De Doelen (Rotterdam), conducted by Ed Spajnaard.
In 2020, he will write an opera for the Opera Forward Festival at the Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam.
He has also atended a number of courses and masterclasses by Tristan Murail, Rebecca Saunders, Carola Bauckholt, Daniel Ott, Fred Frith, Trevor Wishart.
